The Commandant General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ahmed Audi, has ordered the immediate removal of the Rivers Commandant of the corps, Michael Ogar.
The NSCDC Director of Public Relations, Olusola Odumosu, in a statement, said the NSCDC CG also ordered Ogar to hand over to his deputy pending the deployment of a substantive state commandant.
He added that a high-powered panel, headed by Deputy Commandant General Operations, Dauda Mungadi, has been constituted to investigate the matter that led to the protest by petrol tanker drivers in River state.
Yesterday, members of the Nigeria PTD bran h of NUPENG, blocked the state office of the NSCDC over an allegation that the NSCDC seized one of its tankers and sold its content.
