A stakeholders meeting on Flood Disaster and Other Related Hazards was in Port Harcourt held at the conference hall, Rivers State House of Assembly residential quarters in PortHarcourt the state capital on Thursday.
The meeting was held at the instance of the Rivers State House of Assembly Adhoc Committee on Flood and Other Related Natural Disaster with chairmen the state LGAs captured in the 2023 flood prediction bu NiMet.
In attendance were members of the state executive council, permanent secretaries and directors from relevant ministries and heads of related government agencies and parastatals, in preparation for the 2023 flash flood.
The State Assembly Adhoc Committee in their submission through the chairman and Deputy Leader of the Assembly, Hon. Linda Somiari-Stewart representing Okrika State Constituency, noted the importance of a strong synergy with members of the National Assembly from Rivers State, to further ensure that the State is given adequate attention by the federal government.
