Rivers State Government Orders the repairs of Lifts at the State Secretarial buildings

The Rivers state Government have to improve the working condition for civil servants in the State as Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has released money for the refurbishment of all the lifts at the Rivers State Secretariat Complex in Port Harcourt.

The Head of Service, Sir George Nwaeke, made it known to the public at a press briefing in Port Harcourt during the activities to mark 2023 Civil Service Week.

He said water and electricity will be restored to all blocks at the State Secretariat buildings and that the present administration is committed to providing a conducive environment for civil servants in the State with a view to boosting their morale.

Sir Nwaeke said the Governor has also directed that some of the government free buses be dedicated to civil servants in the State.

The Head of Service Nwaeke said, “It is the civil service that interprets and executes government policies. The strength and indeed, the success of any government is metered by the quality and dedication of its civil service”.

“We must understand that our inactivity or inefficiency in any form will mean a disservice to the general populace.

“On the other hand, we can improve the quality of life of our people by approaching our jobs with more commitment”.

Recall that the state governor Siminalayi Fubara paid a visit to the state secretariat to make an on-the-spot assessment of the facilities and to address challenges with the intent of improving the productivity of workers.
