Rivers state Governor charges traditional rulers to redouble their efforts toward sustaining peace in their domains


Rivers state Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara has charged traditional rulers to redouble their efforts toward sustaining peace in their domains.

Governor Fubara made the statement during the Commissions Mgbuodohia Road, in Rumuolumeni community in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area.

During the commisioning, the governor said peace is paramount in every locality.

He emphasized on the need for everyone to work together in order to sustain peace and respect for Rivers state, stressing that defaulting traditional rulers will be penalized  not minding whose ox is gored.

He "Any traditional ruler,even if he’s from my place,who’s supporting cultism, I assure you that as I have started with Ahoada, I will come after you".

Describing the road project, the Honourable Commissioner for Works, Dr. George-Kelly D. Alabo, FNIQS, DSSRS revealed that Mgbuodohia internal roads link Olumeni-Epirikom Road and Nkpor Road.

"This road is a link road linking Olumeni-Epirikom Road and Nkpor Road. The total length of the road is 5.2 kilometres. There are drains along the entire stretch of the road,” the Commissioner added.

On his part, the Managing Director of Lubrik Construction Company, Hadi Chehade asserted that the construction firm completed the project according to the standard and specification. He thanked the people of Mgbuodohia in Rumuolumeni for their cooperation.

Meanwhile, the local government chairman of Obio-Akpor thanked the governor for his support while Rumuolumeni and an oil and Gas industrial hub in the state.
