The Rivers State Government under the ministry of health and the state health care management board, said it is investigating the complaints that immunisation vaccines were being sold by personnel in health centres.
Recall that the Executive Director of the State Primary Healthcare Management Board, Dr Kinikanwo Green said last week that any staff caught selling vaccines will face disciplinary actions he said vaccines are free.
Mr Green made this disclosure when he paid an unscheduled visit to Obio Cottage and Rumuokwurishi Health Centers in Obio/Akpotha Local Government Area of the state.
This came as some nursing mothers accused some personnel at the Obio Cottage Hospital and the Rumuokrushi Health Centre in Obio/Ajpir Local Government of the State of selling vaccines as is has been alleged that nursing mothers are being asked in the facility to pay some money.
